Throughout history, societal imagery has often reinforced narrow and restrictive definitions of gender and femininity that no longer serve our quest for inclusivity. However, photography has the power to challenge and break down these outdated boundaries. By exploring the ability of photography to transcend physical and philosophical realms, we can expand our understanding of women and gender roles. By confronting our preconceptions and biases, we can reinterpret what is captured on camera and behind it, ultimately envisioning a more diverse and inclusive future.
The photographers featured in this exhibition have taken on the task of challenging societal programming and redefining our perception of gender and femininity. It was an honor to review all the submitted works of these talented artists and witness their contributions to the field of photography.
