Immerse Yourself In The Art And Craft Of Still Photography In This Intensive Week Long Camp!
Summer Photography Camp is for teens that love art, photography and digital cameras. Participants will learn digital camera basics to allow and encourage creativity through photographic expression. Previous photography experience not required, just enthusiasm for learning, fun and creating photos. Key topics covered include: How to set up and control strobe lights and continuous lighting; DIY options; Camera settings; How to modify a light source; Composition techniques for making better photos; The art of "Seeing" angles and light; How to adjust the camera to capture your creative ideas; Lightroom Software editing techniques; Digital Printing; Posing a model; Choosing an image to print and critique; Take home your own photographic print.
Day 1 Get to know your camera. Indoor portraits in the studio.
Day 2 See the light. Become a studio photographer.
Day 3 Painting with Light. Creating photos with light and motion.
Day 4 Landscapes and Nature.
Day 5 Edit and Print for your Photography Exhibit.
Presentations will be accompanied by handouts for post-class study. Participants will have hands-on photography or editing time every day. We will end the week with a photo exhibit of each campers work for friends and family.
CLASS REQUIREMENTS: No photography experience necessary.
WHAT TO BRING: Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR), Mirrorless, or Compact Digital camera. (the camera needs to have Shutter Preferred, Aperture Preferred, or Manual settings), Camera Operators Manual, Memory Card(s), Charged batteries and Battery Charger.
DATES & TIMES: Class Hours: 9:30AM - 12:30PM. Class Dates: Monday, June 15th - Friday June 19th, 2020
COST: This one week, half-day class has a registration fee of $325.00. Please register via the online form below. Light snacks will be provided.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Richard Guttmann created this popular summer camp for teens. This year he will be teaching teen summer camp at the world class photo studio and art gallery at Praxis Photo Center. Richard is an award winning photographer and educator based out of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis & St Paul, MN. He teaches a wide range of topics from mobile and digital photography to traditional darkroom techniques and Photoshop Lightroom. His specialty is assisting photographers to expand the knowledge, craft, and vision of their photography. He has taught teens during annual summer camps, educated parents and enthusiasts through a myriad of classes and workshops, and has launched several careers in photography.

CLASS WITHDRAWAL/CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: Payment in full is required at the time of registration. If the class is full we will put you on a contact list for the next scheduled class. Notice of withdrawal must be made two weeks in advance. There is no penalty to transfer to the next scheduled class. A 50% refund can be issued at this time if that is your preference. There are no refunds for notice given less than two weeks before the class though transfers may be made up to one week in advance. There are no refunds for no shows.
