Learn To Create Stunning Portraits With Your Portable Speedlight Flash!
Bring your portrait sessions to a whole new level when you learn how to harness light both indoors and out with your Speedlight flash (camera mounted flash unit). This class will give you the confidence to incorporate your portable Speedlight flash unit in your photography toolkit. Once you start working with your portable flash, you'll never understand how you lived without it. Key topics covered include: Indoor and Outdoor Portraits – Modifiers - Slow Sync and High-Speed Sync - How Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO affect exposure when used with a flash - Flash Duration – Tools required to get a flash off-camera – Multiple Flash Setups – How to spot an ideal location
CLASS REQUIREMENTS: Completion of the Speedlight Flash Basics course or equivalent understanding of camera mounted speed light operation.
WHAT TO BRING: Bring your DSLR or Mirrorless Camera, memory cards, Spare battery and charger, a camera-mountable Speedlight Flash, and tripod (optional). Please feel free to bring your favorite light modifiers, light stand and umbrella adapter. We have a limited number of tripods and light stands to provide. Please bring your own if you have one.

COST: This 1-day workshop has a registration fee of $180.00. Save 15% when you bundle this class with Speedlight Flash Basic. Please register via the online form below. Lunch will be provided. Students with dietary restrictions are asked to bring their own.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Jason Brown is a portrait and product photographer with an abundance of teaching experience throughout his career. He has an excellent ability to make sure the concepts that his students are learning are easy to understand and digest. He has taught a variety of photography-related classes ranging from camera basics to flash photography and studio lighting. His passion is to make photography fun and understandable in order to welcome more people into the craft.

CLASS WITHDRAWAL/CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: Payment in full is required at the time of registration. If the class is full we will put you on a contact list for the next scheduled class. Notice of withdrawal must be made two weeks in advance. There is no penalty to transfer to the next scheduled class. A 50% refund can be issued at this time if that is your preference. There are no refunds for notice given less than two weeks before the class though transfers may be made up to one week in advance. There are no refunds for no-shows.
