INTRODUCTION TO WRITING AN ARTIST STATEMENT | TWO PART  VIRTUAL WORKSHOP
If you consider yourself to be an artist, but feel you lack the necessary writing skills to draft an equally successful artist statement, this class is for you!

The artist statement is a key component to connecting an artist’s work with their audience. This two-part workshop is designed to equip artists with the knowledge and tools to construct a compelling and informative artist statement through a combination of Zoom presentation, short writing exercises, and statement critiques. If you consider yourself to be an artist, but feel you lack the necessary writing skills to draft an equally successful artist statement, this class is for you.

Session one will cover pertinent information regarding the writing of an artist statement. Session two is for those who attended session one and wish to write and receive feedback on an artist statement of their own as well as contribute towards group critique of other's statements in the class.

Students may choose which second session date they prefer. This workshop includes the same Part One date and either Part Two date option to ensure the best possible experience for the hands on portion of this workshop.*

Cat is dedicated to teaching and does so through her involvement with the camera club circuit, her artist collective (Silver Water Collective), and her own local workshops within her community.
